NSF GRFP

Uncertainty over NSF funding has prompted numerous questions about the status of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). We created this site to provide updates on the status of the program.

October 9, 2025 Update:  The solicitation went live on 9/26, just in time for the government to shut down on 10/1. As a result, there are currently no GRFP-related webinars, workshops, etc., on the NSF’s event calendar. In response, ONSF is partnering with the Graduate School and the Writing Center to host a handful of events in the upcoming weeks. Announcements will appear on this page, the Grad School Soapbox, the University events calendar, etc.

Sept. 26, 2025 Update: The solicitation is now live, with deadlines ranging from Nov 10 to Nov 14.  Specific deadlines appear below:

  • November 10, 2025:  Life Sciences
  • November 12, 2025:  Computer and Information Science and Engineering; Materials Research; Psychology; Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences; STEM Education and Learning
  • November 13, 2025:  Engineering
  • November 14, 2025:  Chemistry; Geosciences; Mathematical Sciences; Physics and Astronomy
